Job Description

The Social Media Specialist / Public Relations is responsible for leading and executing the company’s social media channels by developing, implementing and reporting on marketing efforts through social media platforms. This position leads growth and community engagement through social media campaigns, influencer/ambassador relationships and related strategies.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations on the company’s social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, etc
  • Creating consistent, meaningful content on all social mediate platforms, including social media posts, improving public & employee engagement
  • Preparing weekly and monthly content calendars
  • Developing, editing, proofing and publishing a variety of internal and external content including but not limited to videos, blogs, websites, social media and other correspondence
  • Managing the social media community, including monitoring user-generated content, monitoring and activating online influencers and brand enthusiasts
  • Collaborating with other departments – Customer Service, Sales, etc to manage online reputation and resolve customer issues
  • Routinely reporting on, analyzing and drawing insights from all social network activity, following specific KPIs to track and enhance social media performance
  • Developing and managing internal reports on social network community performance utilizing Facebook Insights, Google Analytics and other social reporting tools as required
  • Staying up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Monitoring SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Social Media, Online Community Management or Digital Marketing
  • Post-secondary education - Marketing preferred
  • Demonstrated competency on all social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube for posting, engagement, boosting and reporting and clear understanding how each platform can be deployed in difference scenarios
  • Direct experience working with social analytic and listening tools
  • Inherent understanding of writing for a target audience and with specific marketing campaign objectives in mind
  • Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Strong creative writing skills
  • Firm understanding of brand strategy and development 
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Office
  • Adobe Creative Suite Experience
