Job Description

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, the Sales Representative is responsible for revenue generation in districts, sales offices, and key accounts within a wide geographic area.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Developing new and maintaining existing accounts
  • Contacting prospects and explaining features and merits of products or services offered
  • Meeting revenue targets give on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis
  • Developing territory plans to achieve budget
  • Developing contacts and relationships with potential and existing customers and keeping records and continuously monitoring these contacts and relationships to develop a favourable position
  • Communicating directly with new and existing customers or clients to explain features and merits of products or services offered both verbally and with good written communication
  • Maximizing value to the company by securing orders at the highest margin possible
  • Communicating with Department heads and Sales Support to ensure timely delivery of products and services
  • Demonstrates products or services and provides assistance in the best application of products or services
  • Acting as liaison between sales and other departments internally
  • Investigating product/service warranty claims with the ability and knowledge to communicate internally and externally
  • Analyzing and interpreting records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments and obligations incurred for management
  • Soliciting pre-bid and post-bid competitive feedback
  • Coordinating company technical engineering support and services to ascertain customers’ needs
  • Required to attend and evaluate regional/territory and national trade shows
  • Assisting with setting pricing for the product in the territory – monitoring competitive pricing in the territory
  • May assist with coaching and mentoring entry level and intermediate sales representatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Business Admin or related field
  • Minimum five (5) years' Sales and Account Management experience
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with customers and co-workers al all levels 
  • Strong analytic, quantitative abilities with the ability to think outside the box
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, enthusiasm and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates trust and integrity
  • Efficient management of time, priorities and meets target goals
  • Able to work with a sense of urgency and capable of multitasking
  • Must possess a valid class G license and passport with a willingness to travel
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
