Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, the Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of construction activities, as well as ensuring frequent progress communication with customers. The Project Manager plans, directs, or coordinates, usually through supervisory personnel, all activities concerned with fabrication and maintenance of product.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Managing Project Foremen, Assistant Project Managers and other project staff
  • Overseeing the organization, scheduling, budgeting and implementation of the project
  • Negotiating with prospective clients, preparing estimates and proposals, assisting in design and preparation of specification, and furnish other information which helps the client arrive at a decision to proceed with the project
  • Preparing schedule of values
  • Preparing a project plan for approval by management
  • Preparing and updating project schedules with input from project staff and, if required, assistance from the Scheduling Department
  • Negotiating change orders with client, architects and engineers
  • Completing all required reports
  • Assisting with preparation of all Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, requisitions, proposals, etc.
  • Approving payment of invoices received from vendors and subcontractors
  • Ensuring that all on-site activities are carried out in strict accordance with Company and Government safety regulations
  • Attending weekly trade coordination meetings
  • Other duties as assignment by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Science preferred
  • PM Credentials preferred
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of commercial construction experience
  • Ability to travel to site locations within Canada, minimum of once/month up to once/week
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing construction environment utilizing degree in respective discipline
