Job Description

Reporting to the Management Team, the Production Supervisor / Team Lead  role will consist of ensuring that all resources available are utilized in a manner consistent with the manufacturing of high quality products and production goals, as well as supervising the hourly production workforce, creating and maintaining a safe working environment and a high-performing efficient team, as well as the following daily duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for 10-15+ production associates in the following areas
    • Safety (personal and equipment)
    • Manufacturing procedures and processes
    • Troubleshooting (non-conforming products, equipment casualty)
    • Meeting production requirements
    • Effectively supervising and mentoring production associates
  • Ensure that all equipment is operated and maintained properly – oversee and continuously monitor the overall operation of all equipment to ensure safe and efficient working conditions
  • Coordinate with the previous Production Supervsior / Team Leads on orders, problems, work schedules, and housekeeping
  • Ensure that a product produced meets quality specifications
  • Support activities and tasks required for efficient changeovers on the lines
  • Assist with troubleshooting problems on production lines
  • Monitor production, quality and process control functions
  • Maintain effective employee relations and positive working relationships with personnel in supporting departments
  • Maintain production records and personnel documentation, and completes required reports
  • Abide by and enforce all safety policies and procedures
  • Schedule personnel accordingly to meet production needs and equipment capacity
  • Attend supervisor and plant meetings as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management team


  • Should possess at least 1-2 years or more supervisory (or lead hand) experience within a production / manufacturing environment
  • Post secondary degree/diploma in a similar/related field (i.e mechanical)
  • Forklift  certification & experience an asset
  • Conflict resolution management and time management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation, coupled with organizational, problem solving, interpersonal and leadership abilities
  • Must have a high level of drive and dedication and the ability to motivate a team of production workers (non-union)
  • Ability to seek a team approach, along with giving guidance and direction as required
  • Ability to set direction and make decisions
