  • Position specifics: Direct Hire opportunity within a unionized plant, that runs a 3 shift, 24/7 operation. The Production Manger will be required to work steady days, however, overtime will be required. Competitive comprehension package offered - $80-90K + discretionary bonuses and other benefits to be discussed.

Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all plant activities to ensure that all production objectives and goals are being met in a timely manner.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Organize the daily operations of the plant
  • Schedule and conduct staff meetings/briefings (weekly/monthly)
  • Hire and train new Supervisors, as well as conduct employee performance reviews
  • Responsible for overseeing four (4) Plant Supervisors and four (4) Lead Hands
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are met, and the plant is kept clean and safe for all employees at all times
  • Establish and implement new plant policies and procedures when necessary, and ensure that they are adhered to
  • Oversee employees in a unionized environment and ensure that the plant is running smoothly, efficiently, and production goals are being met
  • Create production schedules and work closely with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, sales and shipping
  • Establish and maintain a positive work environment and motivate employees to reach company production objectives and goals
  • Corporate reporting utilizing the applicable software
  • Work within the plant / departmental budgets provided by Corporate office

Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of Production Supervision / Management experience, in a Production and Packaging environment
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and other common software
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with plant employees as well as all levels of management
  • Strong leadership skills and problem solving skills are essential
  • Must be goal oriented and have the ability to motivate plant employees
  • Ability to delegate authority and tasks
