Job Description

Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, the Logistics Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and maintenance of inventory, logistics and warehouse operational procedures and controls. The Logistics Manager oversees all aspects of transportation and freight, rail, truck carrier, border issues and customer clearance procedures across the international border in both directions.

Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

  • Strategize, problem solve, develop and implement logistics, inventory and operations infrastructure including processes, policies and ongoing improvement plans
  • Oversee freight management, vendor routing and carrier management and he associated relationships
  • Develop, implement and monitor performance metrics for inventory, transportation, shipping and receiving and warehouse operations
  • Create, monitor and report on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual key performance indicators – KPI’s
  • Negotiate with and manage contracts and service level agreements for third party suppliers, warehousing and/or service providers
  • Coordinate and submit timely and accurate inventory control data for monthly/annual materials management of third party warehouses and copackers
  • Manage carrier implementations and establish service level agreements to ensure services are delivered as promised
  • Conduct and manage associated budgets for the company’s logistics and warehouse departments
  • Manage the imports and exports shipped to and from the company – work with customs officials to ensure compliance
  • Trace incoming railcar and container shipments and trouble-shoots where necessary with transport agencies
  • Enter purchase contracts, orders, shipping details and Certificate of Analysis in system
  • Responsible for scheduled deliveries, including coordination of  shipments for non-bulk items, inventory and shipment tracking, order processing, contract entry, freight rate procurement and payable entry
  • Coach, lead and mentor supply chain team including logistics supervisor, transportation coordinator and shipping clerk
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of logistics experience which includes Supervisory responsibilities
  • Knowledge of office processes, procedures, technology and logistics
  • Experience in supervising project and team activities
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports, legal contracts and customs regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics, transportation and supply chain management
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
