  • Position specifics: Direct hire position. Full time, straight days. Our customer is a federally regulated company and due to the nature of their industry, they are a Continus Operation. Stat Holidays are shared and rotated accordingly. There bay be times that shifts are altered to assist with vacation and time-off coverage or unforeseen circumstances. Job Description

The Brokerage / Backhaul Coordinator is responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Managing house accounts
  • Ensuring all active contracts are checked and called for ETA updates, arrival and completion times, etc
  • Order entry
  • Backhaul / Lane balance and Broker of overflow freight as determined by Planners
  • Sending Daily Broadcast to notify of available equipment and loads along with updating the Link
  • Reviewing daily broadcast contact / email group to ensure it is current with reputable parties
  • Ensuring rates are in-line with company guidelines
  • Reviewing all load confirmations and monitoring and confirming all orders in Trans+ to ensure detail is current to real time
  • Checking calls to outside carriers to ensure appointments are met and Contract Board in Trans+ is updated to current
  • Verifying all appointment times, hours of services of all 3rd party orders to avoid unnecessary delays and waiting time
  • Ensuring any extra chargers are followed up in detail and Notes in Order and or Accounting notified if 3rd party order – ensuring revised rate confirms are obtained
  • Ensuring all new customers and carriers are approved by administration prior to use to ensure they meet requirements and standards
  • Monitoring all outside carriers to ensuring their information is current
  • Reviewing all active orders & contracts at end of day
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned

Order Entry / Data Integrity

  • Ensuring all orders are entered with complete detail to ensure optimum customer service for Drivers, Carriers & Customers
  • Confirming appointment times
  • Confirming all addresses and contact information and any other details as required
  • Reviewing all orders before assigning to ensure any unusual information is confirmed with the driver
  • Ensuring all Customs information is complete and up to date
  • Confirming any CSA load is properly identified
  • Confirming all customer specific information is understood by outside carrier or driver, sending follow-up messages to driver
  • Supporting check calls when required to ensure all contract information is detailed and correct

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years related experience
  • Must have good knowledge of Canadian & USA regulations as it relate to HOS, Elogs and Customs, etc
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, attention to detail and prompt response to emails
  • Must have strong geographical knowledge of North America
  • Must be a team player and willing to help others as required
