Job Description

Reporting to the Directors of the company, the General Manager will be responsible for:

  • The day to day operations of the company
  • Overseeing the operational employees and staff
  • Customer relations
  • Setting and implementing the direction of the company in consultation with the directors
  • Working with customers and partners to develop and implement the continued growth of the company.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan and direct the operational activities, ensuring customer demands are met
  • Oversee supervisory staff to ensure the smooth and cost effective operation of the company; scheduling, technical, sales and human resources activities
  • Comply with all corporate policies & procedures while meeting all government regulations
  • Implement approved strategies and objectives of the directors
  • Maintain cost control system established by the corporate executives
  • Prepare reports on the business operations for the executive staff, including financial performance, workload status, potential problems, potential opportunities
  • Forecast future work assignments, both short and long term, for the shop operations
  • Develop new business opportunities
  • Oversee selection of suppliers, considering cost, quality and reputation; negotiating contracts and participating in discussions to improve products and services while ensuring the integrity of the relationship
  • Approve expenditures and proposal pricing within the authorized limits
  • Maintain contact with major customers; dealing with project management, negotiating contracts, resolving disputes and general communication
  • Provide the necessary support and guidance to all departments to make certain they meet their targets and goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or a technical diploma is preferred
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in sales and marketing; preferably with automobile products/accessories, with a strong technical background
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in an upper management position
  • Excellent oral and written English comprehension
  • Ability to delegate
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team and manage projects
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Approachable with strong communication skills
  • Proven abilities to interact with executives, corporate managers and staff
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver short and long term goals
  • Proven ability to develop and document operational processes and technical solutions
  • A strong commitment to customer service supported by strong client management skills
  • Exceptional organizational skill, able to prioritize and multitask
  • Crisis management and dispute resolution skills
