Job Description

Reporting directly to the Executive Management team the Finance Manager is responsible for the cost-efficient operation, supervision and administration of the finance and accounting department. Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Daily review of both Canadian and USA bank accounts
  • Daily review and tracking of Visa accounts
  • Daily job costing
  • Daily monitoring of outstanding purchase orders
  • Daily monitoring of Accounts Receivable – initiating collections procedure if needed
  • Weekly review of payroll and monthly payment of HST, Employer Health Tax, WSIB, RSPs, etc
  • Ensuring that local statutory reporting and tax authority requirements are met
  • Submission of credit applications
  • Monthly reconciliations –  Canadian and USA bank accounts, Visas, etc
  • Financial analysis and presentation at monthly meetings with Executive Management team
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly financial information
  • Preparation of year-end account reconciliations
  • Leading, developing and coaching accounting team members
  • Serving as the primary point of contact with Corporate Accounting – addressing questions and reporting needs
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related
  • Professional designation (CMA, CPA) preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years' of finance/accounting
  • Proven leadership skills - at minimum three (3) years Managerial / Supervisory experience
  • Experience in financial close, internal controls, internal and external audit management, ad hoc analysis, management reporting, accounting standards, working capital, cash flow management, costing and financial planning
  • Experience with Quickbooks a definite asset
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize work
  • Strong communication skills and leadership abilities
  • Employee development would be a great asset
