Job Description

The Field Construction Manager is responsible for managing the project site, coordinating equipment and providing effective leadership and management to the internal Field Construction and Management team.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for providing effective communication internally and externally regarding project status
  • Scheduling and coordinating activities relating to projects and adhering to project budgets
  • Managing the overall site safety program as required, providing safety orienation to new employees and enforcing works compliance with company standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations
  • Identifying and resolving field issues during testing
  • Interfacing positively with customers to explain the process and assisting with providing information regarding any questions they may have
  • Coordinating timely arrival of equipment to project sites in conjunction with Project Managers
  • Working with field crews to diagnose equipment issues and coordinate repairs
  • Overseeing the Preventative Maintenance schedule for all machines and ensuring compliance
  • Reviewing and approving all invoices related to equipment maintenance
  • Completing site visits to tackle any issues crew and customers are having and also overseeing to make sure Construction Managers are able to do the same
  • Effectively communicating and resolving ad hoc field issues regarding construction crews, customers and/or Construction Managers
  • Working with field crews to develop project standards and norms
  • Performing site audits of crews to ensure safety and proper installation practices
  • Managing all warranty and repair work for completed projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Construction Management or related field
  • Ten (10) plus years experience in Field Construction
  • Five (5) plus years Management or Supervisory experience
  • Technical construction knowledge to understand construction processes and terminology to assist in management of field personnel and systems
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) 
  • Effective time management skills to mange a busy work environment - ability to schedule and organize multiple jobs
