Job Description

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Dispatcher and Warehouse Manager is responsible for the direct management of the fleet of trucks, packaged inventory, warehouse and distribution functions.  This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative, safety and organizational policies and procedures.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the activities of receiving, storing and shipping product to ensure safe efficient and timely operations
  • Motivating and communicating effectively with warehouse employees
  • Managing the receiving and inspection of inbound materials
  • Ensuring proper and safe compliant storage of materials
  • Manages the warehouse inventory through cycle counts and audits to verify results, investigate and correct deficiencies
  • Organizing the layout of daily deliveries received for all drivers by prioritizing deliveries by importance and geography
  • Coordinating with fuel drivers to determine driver schedules and truck availability
  • Helping drivers adapt to shifting priorities
  • Coordinating with customers to provide accurate and detailed delivery instructions to drivers
  • Ensuring safe working behaviours through education, training and continuous improvement
  • Responsible for proper maintenance of all land fuel division trucks, main office and warehouse and associated equipment, including preventative and routine maintenance, certifications and licenses
  • Responsible for performing managerial functions such as payroll, training, employee development, performance evaluations, etc
  • Assists the Transportation and Logistics Manager in the preparation of various reports as may be necessary to support the business
  •  Responsible for employee performance evaluations, recognition, and corrective actions
  • Enforces company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as required


  • Minimum three (3) years related leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain environment
  • Proven track record of leading teams in excess of 10
  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as Operations Management
  • Superior customer service and communication skills
  • Must be well organized with good time management skills and attention to details
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Experience of leading change and the application of continuous improvement processes in the workplace to deliver performance improvements
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, ESA and OHSA legislation.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, diplomacy, and tact
  • Excellent planning and resource allocation skills.
