Job Description

Qualifications

Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, this Design Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Conceptualize, design, analyze and optimize Thermal Acoustical Shields (automotive industry)
  • Design using fully parametric #D modelling free-forming techniques and validate design utilizing FEA software
  • Positively represent the company in front of the customer during technical product presentations and reviews
  • Interact and collaborate with customers and team members on product development, problem resolution and production launch
  • Participate in APQP related activities and support project management assigned tasks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in UGNX
  • Experienced in drafting and understanding of GD&T
  • Knowledge of CATIA (V5), Pro-E and I-Deas are definitive assets
  • Experienced with FEA software, preferably Altair Hyperworks, Abaqus and RadTherm in the areas of modal/stress, thermal and formability analyses
  • Working knowledge of APQP and familiarity with TS169/IATF
  • Automotive experience and basic understanding of engines
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes of metal forming and stampings
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills 
  • Independent self-starter
