Job Description

The Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk efficiently and accurately executes accounts payable and receivable cycles per company standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Collecting revenue by reminding delinquent accounts; notifying customers of insufficient payments
  • Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information; computing charges and refunds; preparing and mailing invoices; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments
  • Preparing work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information
  • Paying invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment
  • Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends
  • Maintaining accounting ledgers by posting account transactions
  • Verifying accounts by reconciling statements and transactions
  • Resolving account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments or adjustments
  • Maintaining financial security by following internal accounting controls
  • Securing financial information by completing data base backups
  • Maintaining financial historical records by filing accounting documents
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum three (3) years AP & AR experience in a fast paced, large volume environment
  • Flexibility to work overtime hours during busy times (month-end, etc)
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices and procedures
  • Data entry skills and experience using accounting software
