Sara has provided numerous candidates to interview (often on very short notice) and seems to know exactly what skills we are looking for. Often, these candidates have been offered full time employment, as we are so happy with their work.

Our Process Includes:

Resume Screening

Over 500 resumes are received weekly. They are screened for qualifications, experience, employment history and transferrable skills. Only those selected will be called in for a personal interview.

Candidate Interview

Candidates being interviewed will complete an application and provide records of education, degrees, certifications and business related references. Our Staffing Specialists will thoroughly interview the candidate and provide additional information on capabilities, character and work history. The interview process allows us to further screen candidates, and only the best move to the next step.

Referencing

Candidates having completed a successful interview are referenced. Only work related references are permitted and must be of a supervisory nature. As past work performance is the single best indicator to future performance, our comprehensive referencing helps evaluate technical skill, work performance, attendance, reliability, cooperation, attitude, etc.

Testing

Successful candidates will be subjected to our in-house interactive web based skills assessment testing. Our program includes over 1200+ available tests (a listing is available for review under Resources – Assessment Tests). Test scores are reviewed and evaluated for placement feasibility. Successful candidates are profiled in our data base of available candidates for placement.

Job Orders

All relevant information pertaining to a specific job order is recorded accurately and included in a formal quote to our customer advising of our terms and conditions for placement. Our candidate profiles are reviewed for matches to the job order. Qualified candidates are advised of the potential position, and then complete resume packages are submitted to the customer for their review.

Customers Interviews & Hire

We highly encourage customers to meet and interview prospective candidates. We arrange interview times either on or off-site. We prepare potential candidates for the interview process by providing an understanding of the customer's business activities, environment and job expectations.

Job Orientation

Each candidate selected by our customers must undergo a five (5) module Health & Safety orientation program that includes:

  • Employee placement paperwork
  • GWG Orientation
  • Customer on-site specific orientation
  • Orientation test and review
  • Basic WHMIS training and testing

Customer Quality Check

After one week of employment, the customer is contacted to review the progress of the new employee and to address any concerns or issues.

Employee Quality Check

After one week of employment the employee is contacted to ensure that the on-site training and integration is proceeding smoothly. An "Employee Health and Safety" questionnaire is included with their first pay check.

Payroll Delivery

Weekly payroll is delivered to the various work sites to maintain constant communication between customers and workers in the workplace. This allows rapid resolution of any outstanding or new issues and our availability to procure new business opportunities with our customer.

The follow-up on the incumbents is indicative of the quality service they provide. It is ongoing throughout placements and we have appreciated their commitment to provide us with the best candidates.

    Q: Why aren't I being hired for one of the positions posted?

    A: G.W.Goudreau Personnel Services Ltd. has been recently experiencing a high level of people questioning why they aren't being considered or acquiring the jobs being posted.

    1. It must be remembered that every candidate must meet the skill set qualifications and educational requirements that our customer defines for us. Our job is to find an accurate match. We do not make the final decision for hire.

    2. It is also sometimes the case that a person's resumes does not accurately reflect the skill set required. We can only go by what we see on the resume provided to us.

    3. And lastly but most importantly, Staffing Firms have a very high level of resumes coming in on a daily basis and it is not possible to find every person employment, although that is our deepest wish.

    So please keep this in mind as we work diligently every day to secure employment for as many people as possible.
